Lisa’s passion for movement and education has been the foundation of her professional career in ballroom and partner dance. It is a passion that drives her to impact lives through dance at a physical, emotional, mental and social level.

Growing up, Lisa trained in gymnastics, ballet and jazz from the age of 5-17. After sustaining an injury, she began her education in pursuit of a way to help others. While working on her undergraduate degree in developmental psychology, she became licensed as a massage therapist.

After recovering from her injury, Lisa joined a circus fusion dance company in Baltimore where she performed modern and aerial dance, Chinese acrobatics and worked with fire apparati.

After seeing so many dancers working through injuries, she was inspired to continue with a pre-med track to eventually study chiropractic medicine. However, that was when she found ballroom dancing and realized it was a style of dance she could sustain as a lifelong passion and share with others.

Lisa became certified in American ballroom and partner dancing in 2015. She quickly acquired experience teaching social and competitive dancing to singles and couples, with several of her students winning top student awards in competition.

At the same time, Lisa was competing professionally in American Smooth with her partner Gentry. Together they won titles in the early professional divisions.

When the opportunity arose last year to open a studio here in Boise, she was excited to begin building a community of dancers. As studio manager she has an opportunity to mentor staff and students, facilitate events and find creative ways to bring people together.

Outside of the ballroom, you will find her at a salsa club or country bar enjoying social dancing. Lisa believes dance is something everyone can enjoy and loves helping people build confidence to get on the floor for social dancing or preparing for a wedding or event. If she isn’t dancing, you will find her enjoying the sunshine, knitting a new project or raiding the craft store for her next inspiration.

Lisa can help you reach your goals, no matter if you’re new to ballroom dancing or an experienced dancer who is looking to enhance your skills. Sign up for a consultation, check out our group class options or private lessons or find a package that works best for you!
