“I'm just a beginner looking to have fun and surprise my wife with new dancing skills and they are helping me to do that in a great, comfortable atmosphere.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We have answers! We know the hardest step is the first one you take walking through our door. Once you do, you’ll discover a warm, welcoming and supportive community that will keep you coming back. Please contact us at (208) 514-0440 or boise@fredastaire.com if there’s anything more we can share that will help you feel comfortable, confident and prepared.

Do I need a partner?

Absolutely not — we welcome singles AND couples. If you come in as one of our single students, your dance instructor will be your partner for private lessons, and our group classes and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunities to meet — and dance with — other dance students with the same interests and goals.

When is the studio open?

We’re open from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Be sure to check our in-studio calendar for upcoming open houses, group dance classes, community events and more. Or sign up for our newsletter to get updates directly to your email!

How do I get started?

Call us at (208) 514-0440, email us at boise@fredastaire.com or fill out our Contact form and we’ll be in touch to learn about your goals and help you get started.

What types of dance do you teach?

We offer instruction for all partnership dances — from waltz, tango, cha-cha, and salsa, to country western, swing and club dancing. We can help you with your wedding dance, all of your social dance needs — basically, any dance done with a partner.

How should I dress for my lesson?

Coming straight from work? Prefer to dress casually? Either is fine. Just wear something comfortable which allows you to move easily. You’ll also want to select comfortable shoes. We suggest leather-soled shoes for gentlemen, and a shoe with a back for ladies (similar to what you might wear to go out dancing). Athletic shoes do not work well on the ballroom floor because they stick, which will make it difficult to move your feet.

Is it difficult to learn to dance?

No! Our dance instructors are all highly-qualified and welcoming professionals who participate in ongoing dance training throughout their careers. We promise, the learning is fun — and you will be on your way to confident social dancing after your very first dance lesson.
