Lots to Love About Rumba

An older couple learning to dance rumba.

Want to reignite your love of dance this year? Looking for ways to connect with your partner through a fun social activity? The rumba might be the perfect dance style for you!

Universally recognized as the dance of love, the rumba ballroom dance style is usually danced to slow Latin music or popular ballads.

With slow swaying movements, this dance is the perfect ballroom style to master if you want to feel confident the next time you and your partner hit the dance floor at a wedding!

A Dance for All Experience Levels

The rumba is characterized by slower steps and a still upper body, making it a great dance for students of all experience levels. It’s also a perfect dance foundation to build on if you want to master the steps and movements of other Latin dances.

Did You Know?

The rumba has Afro-Cuban roots and the name “rumba” derives from the Spanish word “rumbear,” which means to go out dancing or partying. This month, we are bringing that party to Downtown Boise!

See You One the Dance Floor

The rumba is the studio member group class on Jan. 31. Bring a partner or find one on the dance floor, you won’t want to miss the chance to practice this romantic, versatile dance and brush up on your swoon-worthy moves before Valentine’s Day!
